MASTER INSTRUCTOR (1000) COURSE DESCRIPTION

Standard Occupational Classification (SOC 25.1194.00) (CIP 12.0413):
The curriculum involves 1000 hours to satisfy Oklahoma state requirements. The course includes extensive instructional experience in learning culture, the learning process, communication, coaching, servicing, training skills, practical demonstrations, testing and evaluation theory, and lesson planning.

*Graduate’s are prepared to become an entry level instructor.

his program is taught in English. Textbooks and Course Materials are only offered in the English Language.

MASTER INSTRUCTOR (1000) OVERVIEW

Course Hours: Master Instructor 1000 clock hours

The master instructor course is divided into pre-clinical instruction and clinical service learning experience.

  1. Pre-clinical Classroom Instruction: The first 180 hours are devoted to classroom workshops, where students learn teaching principles, technical information, and professional practices.
  2. Clinic Classroom Learning Experience: The remaining hours are spent in the clinic classroom area, where students gain practical experience.

MASTER INSTRUCTOR (1000) OUTLINE

Your time in the Paul Mitchell The School Tulsa master instructor course will be divided into three designations:

  1. Postgraduate Training: This section is a refresher on cosmetology skills, where you will complete assignments and take cosmetology written exams.
  2. Psychology and Methodology: These classes focus on the theory of teaching, using Pivot Point Mindful Teaching Pro textbook, including weekly tests.
  3. Student Teaching: You will learn to write lesson plans and do actual teaching from your lesson plans. There will be a practical teaching evaluation of your teaching skills.

MASTER INSTRUCTOR (1000) COURSE PROGRAM TESTING AND GRADING PROCEDURES 

The following tests and grading procedures are used to assess student learning and mastery of course content in the 1000-hour course.

  1. Students must receive a grade of 75% or higher on each theory exam. Theory exams cover a review of the Pivot Point Mindful Teaching Pro: Student course Book.
  2. Students must receive 75% or higher on each final exam; final exams cover a complete overview of the Pivot Point Mindful teaching Pro: Student course book.  

MASTER INSTRUCTOR (1000) COURSE INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES AND METHODS

The 1000 hour master instructor programs are provided through a sequential set of learning steps which address specific tasks necessary for State Board preparation, graduation and job entry level skills. Clinic equipment, implements and products are comparable to those used in the industry. Each student will receive instruction that relates to the performance of useful, creative and productive career oriented activities. The course is presented through well-developed lesson plans that reflect the latest educational methods. Subjects are presented by means of lecture, demonstration, distance education, and student participation. Audio-visual aids, guest speakers, field trips, and other related learning methods are used in the course.
